GENERAL DESCRIPTION
OSI is seeking a Tier 2 Disaster Recovery & Data Protection Engineer to support our client’s managed Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Backup as a Service (BaaS) platforms. This engineer will play a key role in supporting customer disaster recovery environments, assisting with DR testing, troubleshooting replication issues, and maintaining reliable recovery processes.
This role is perfect for a technical professional in El Salvador or Nicaragua who excels in troubleshooting enterprise-grade backup environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own support tickets from intake to resolution using defined SLAs and escalation guidelines.
• Support DRaaS environments including monitoring replication health and resolving alerts.
• Troubleshoot Zerto replication issues including VPG configuration and replication lag.
• Assist with customer DR testing including preparation, execution, and documentation.
• Support development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and runbooks.
• Provide support for Veeam, Commvault, AWS Backup, and Azure Backup platforms when related to recovery workflows.
• Document troubleshooting steps, testing results, and operational notes in the ticketing system.
• Actively monitor DR platforms, replication health, and backup job status.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in technical support or systems engineering role
• Hands-on experience supporting Zerto or similar replication-based disaster recovery platforms
• Experience participating in disaster recovery testing or failover exercises
• Familiarity with Veeam or Commvault backup platforms
• Working knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Skilled in troubleshooting, incident management, and ticket handling
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Willingness and availability to work Wednesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting DRaaS offerings in a service provider or MSP environment.
• Experience working with Zerto failover testing, VPG configuration, and recovery workflows.
• Experience with Veeam, Commvault, AWS, and Azure backup environments beyond basic operation.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, VMware, networking, and storage fundamentals.
• Experience assisting with DR plan development and recovery runbooks.
• Working knowledge of ITIL or similar operational frameworks.
