GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a high-performing Firewall Migration Analyst L2 to join our team for a critical, time-sensitive firewall migration and support project. The successful candidate will be a Firewall specialist capable of executing complex migrations, troubleshooting advanced connectivity issues, and ensuring seamless transitions for our Managed Services clients. Speed, precision, and deep FortiOS and/ or PAN-OS expertise are mandatory for this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute the migration of legacy firewall configurations (policies, objects, NAT, and VPNs) to FortiGate platforms with minimal downtime.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network and security incidents, moving beyond basic triage to hands-on remediation.
• Audit, optimize, and implement firewall security policies, ensuring compliance with organizational baselines and security best practices.
• Deploy and troubleshoot Phase 1/Phase 2 IPsec tunnels and SSL-VPN portals to ensure secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
• Utilize Centralized Management tools to push configurations, manage firmware updates, and analyze traffic logs for rapid troubleshooting.
• Maintain rigorous documentation of network diagrams, migration steps, and root cause analyses to ensure project continuity.
• Validate that all newly deployed hardware meets strict configuration baselines and security hardening standards.
REQUIREMENTS
• 3 years of dedicated experience in Network Security or Systems Administration, with a heavy focus on Firewall lifecycle management.
• Deep hands-on experience with FortiOS and/or PAN-OS NSE 4 or NSE 5 certification is highly preferred.
• Proven experience migrating environments from other vendors (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto) to Fortinet.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model, VLAN tagging, Link Aggregation (LAG), and dynamic routing protocols.
• Fluent English (verbal and written) with the ability to provide clear technical updates to stakeholders under high-pressure deadlines.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing systems and network monitoring tools (SNMP, Syslog, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to work effectively under tight project deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
• Requires minimal supervision; able to take a migration plan and execute it from start to finish.
• Obsessive about detail—ensures that every rule and object is correctly mapped during the migration process.
