Responsibilities:
The part-time Network Support Officer will carry out a number of organizational tasks that ensure the smooth running of the network and will support the Network Coordinator in any administrative issues.
Network Support and Capacity Building for Schools:
Support the Network Coordinator in the implementation of the Enterprising Schools Network, Central America
• Plan and run network activities as specified in the Project Design Document and the Network Master Plan
• Liaise with network member schools on any issues
• Other communications: write a monthly newsletter, as well as frequent blog and Facebook posts
• With the information of the Network Support Officer, follow the performance of schools taking part in the School Enterprise Challenge and recruit them for the Network
• Support in creating resources for the network and content for the database
• Update website content as necessary (e.g. create member profiles for every member school)
• Promote and sell paid services and support in the delivery
• Support the rest of the team in creating engaging educational videos
• If necessary, support in delivering workshops
• Support with coordination of translations of educational and communication material in conjunction with the School Enterprise Challenge UK team
Miscellaneous:
Ad hoc services in connection with the above in support of the objects of Teach A Man To Fish.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
• Some experience working in an NGO, particularly in connection with education or entrepreneurship, or in a small-scale business with a variety of different tasks
• Experience in organizing small scale events, like workshops and knowledge exchanges
• A passion for NGO work, enterprise and education
• Be Fluent English and Spanish
• Very strong organizational skills, a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong IT skills (familiarity with Word & Excel)
• Be an excellent and engaging communicator with the ability to write high quality narrative reports as well as upbeat social media entries, and the confidence to represent Teach A Man To Fish in front of potential partner organisations and government bodies
• Evidence of a‘can do’ attitude, highly motivated, outgoing
• An ability to influence and facilitate people changing and adapting the way they do things
• Highly flexible and very reliable
• Tech-savvy, especially in the use of social media
Desirable:
• An undergraduate degree
• Knowledge in teaching or tutoring
• Knowledge of video-editing and how to make engaging learning videos
• Knowledge of the education system in Central American countries
• Knowledge of or experience in curriculum development
• Drivers’ license
Benefits:
• 10 days Annual leave, plus national holidays
• Laptop to use for work purposes
Salary : A stipend of $ 250 per month
Hours: 22 hours per week (2.5-3 days)
Duration: 6 months, maternity cover
Setting: Managua or León, Nicaragua
