Plant Metallurgist

Reports to: mill superintendent

Role: provide leadership and specialist metallurgical support to the company´s mine mills with the objectives of cost, quality,enviromental and safety controlled production of base and precious metal concentrates.

Qualifications/ experience:

- Metallurgical, process, chemical engineer degree or relevant.
- Minimum 2 years base metal mineral processing experience. Some mechanical background would be an asset.
- Experience in, plant operation and supervisory positions.
- Experience in flotation and grinding trouble shooting.

Key accountabilities:

- Ensure shec guidelines and procedures are included in area plants, decision making, systems and processes.
- Promote a high level of safty and environmental awareness amongst the production teams.
- Achieve or surpass safety, health and environment activities of those around you.
- Provide specialist support to the technical section to ensure that product and process developments are implemented to ensure optimun concentrate quality, based on fitness for purpose, are established and maintained to meet company smelting and marketing objectives.
- Find opportunities to lower costs and improve metallurgical performance by tracking operational data.
- Monitor plant opertaional control parameters and report on the key process indicators. (Reagents, grind size, grinding media charge levels ext).
- Consistently comply with policies, procedures, agreed values and behaviors on the company's code of conduct, ensuring ongoing effective people management of staff by setting clear performance, objectives, providing regular feedback and development through coaching and training of employees in the production teams.

- Metallurgical trouble shooting ability,

- Proficient spreadsheet and database applications.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated project management.
- Fluent in spanish.
